The logistical nightmare of the A15 motorway and the Botlek tunnel
The main artery feeding the port of Rotterdam is the A15 motorway. Thousands of lorries and vans pass through it every day. A critical point is Botlek Tunnel. If your accommodation is on the "wrong side of the river" (e.g. in the centre of North Rotterdam), your employees may spend up to 2-3 hours a day in traffic.
By renting cheaper accommodation in neighbourhoods such as Kralingen or Crooswijk (north), you run the risk of the brigade getting stuck in traffic before the Maastunnel or Beneluxtunnel. Delaying the start of a shift by one hour with a brigade of 10 people is a loss of EUR 500-800 per day.

Zone A: Botlek and Vondelingenplaat
It is the heart of the chemical industry. The largest refineries are located here.
Recommended accommodation locations:
- Spijkenisse: Ideal connection via the Hartelbrug bridge. It takes 10-15 minutes to get there, avoiding major traffic jams on the A15.
- Hoogvliet: Immediate vicinity of industrial zone.
- Pernis: For projects within the zone itself.
Zone B: Europoort
Deeper part of the port, container and ferry terminals. Getting here from the centre of Rotterdam is very time-consuming.
Recommended accommodation locations:
- Brielle: Historic town with an excellent exit on the N57 towards Europoort.
- Rozenburg: A strategic point right at the entrance to the zone.
- Vlaardingen (West): A good option if using the Benelux Tunnel, but risky during rush hour.
Zone C: Maasvlakte 1 and 2
The furthest part of the harbour, "reclaimed from the sea". Getting here from the centre of Rotterdam is often more than an hour one way.
Recommended accommodation locations:
- Oostvoorne: Nearest residential area. Peaceful area, access to Maasvlakte in 15 minutes.
- Rockanje: An alternative to Oostvoorne, close to the beach, which is a plus for workers in summer.
- Hellevoetsluis: A little further afield, but with a large base of houses for larger groups.

Do you help organise transport?
As a housing company, we do not provide transport services, but our locations are selected to be close to employee bus routes (if the company organises one) or to have an easy exit to the motorway.
Is employee registration required?
For B2B contracts and temporary work, registration is often not required. Our premises meet the requirements for legal residence without registration (in accordance with the regulations for foreign workers).
